Chapter 9

  • Group Word documents logically into folders. Create a new folder at the Open or Save As dialog box.
  • You can select one or several documents at the Open dialog box. Copy, move, rename, delete, print, or open a document or selected documents.
  • Delete documents and/or folders with the Delete button on the Open or Save As dialog box toolbar or with the Delete option from the shortcut menu.
  • Documents deleted from the hard drive are sent to the Windows Recycle Bin. You can empty or recover documents from the Recycle Bin.
  • Use the Cut, Copy, and Paste options from the Open or Save As dialog box shortcut menu to move or copy a document from one folder to another.
  • Rename documents with the Rename option from the Open dialog box Tools button drop-down list.
  • You can open multiple documents and print multiple documents from the Open dialog box.
  • Change views in the Open dialog box or Save As dialog box with options from the Views button arrow drop-down list.
  • Save a document in a different format with the Save As side menu at the Office button drop-down list or with the Save as type option at the Save As dialog box.
  • Word includes a number of template documents you can use to create a variety of documents. Display the list of template documents by clicking the Office button and then clicking New at the drop-down list.
