A chart is a visual presentation of data. You can create a chart with the Chart button in the Insert tab.
At the Insert Chart dialog box, choose one of eleven available chart types: area, bar, bubble, column, doughnut, line, pie, radar, stock, surface, or XY scatter charts.
Enter data for a chart in an Excel worksheet. As you enter data, press Tab to make the next cell active, press Shift + Tab to make the previous cell active, and press Enter to make the cell below active.
Use the Change Chart Type button in the Chart Tools Design tab to change the type of the existing chart.
Cells in the Excel worksheet that are used to create a chart are linked to the chart in the Word document. Click the Edit Data button in the Chart Tools Design tab, make changes to text in the Excel worksheet, and the changes are reflected in the chart in the Word document.
Select and modify chart elements with options in the Current Selection group in the Chart Tools Layout tab.
Insert elements in a chart, such as pictures, shapes, and text boxes, with buttons in the Insert group in the Chart Tools Layout tab.
Use options in the Labels group in the Chart Tools Layout tab to insert and position labels such as chart and axis tables, a legend, and data labels.
Insert major and/or minor horizontal and vertical gridlines with buttons in the Axes group in the Chart Tools Layout tab.
The Shape Styles group in the Chart Tools Format tab contains predesigned styles you can apply to shapes in a chart. The group also contains buttons for applying shape fill, outline, and effects. Use options in the WordArt Styles group to apply styles to text in a chart. Use buttons in the group to apply fill, outline, and effects to text.
Use options in the Arrange group in the Chart Tools Format tab to position and arrange a chart in the document. To move a chart, choose a text wrapping style, and then drag the chart to the desired location.
Change the height and width of the chart with buttons in the Size group in the Chart Tools Format tab.
