Donna Rosenberg has taught mythology at all levels from kindergarten to adult. She became interested in mythology by looking at the stars. As she was teaching a youth group about the constellations, she began to research myths about the constellations, starting with the story of Orion, the Hunter. She began reading myths aloud to her students, and then went on to create her own retellings, always trying to preserve the spirit of the original myth. That desire has led to the writing of many books and anthologies on mythology. World Mythology: An Anthology of the Great Myths and Epics is her most recent anthology. In it, she says, " 'The Creation of Music' reveals the importance of music in the Aztec/Toltec culture. The language is unusually beautiful because the source of the myth is a poem." The anthology is used in high schools, colleges, and universities all over the world.
