Ariel Dorfman is currently the Walter Hines Page Research Professor of Literature in Latin America Studies for Duke University. He has taught at the Universidad de Chile, the Sorbonne, and the University of Amsterdam. He is the winner of numerous awards for his writings, especially his plays. One of his most famous plays, Death and the Maiden, was made into a film by the renowned director Roman Polanski. His most recent book is The Nanny and the Iceberg, which was published in 1999.
