Ray Bradbury (b.1920) was born in Illinois. He is best known for his science fiction and fantasy stories. He has published more than 20 books, including novels, children's books, and collections of short stories, poetry, and plays. Bradbury's science fiction stories offer social criticism and warnings against the dangers of uncontrolled technological development. For science fiction and fantasy writing, he has won the World Fantasy Award for lifetime achievement and the Grand Master Award from the Science Fiction Writers of America.
