Read the Reader’s Resource and the Reader’s Toolbox on page 823. Then look at the title and pictures on pages 824 and 825. Notice the captions near the pictures.
1. With a partner, look over the pictures. Talk about what you see. Read the captions carefully. Look closely at each picture focusing on what you learn from the caption.
2. Work by yourself to answer the Critical Thinking questions on page 825. To answer the questions, you will need to examine the pictures carefully.
If you are having a difficult time answering the questions, try spending more time on viewing the pictures. Then visualize what all of the continents and countries look like from space. You might also find a map to locate where Mount Everest and the Himalayas are. Use a dictionary to look up the definition of what a key is, as in Florida Keys.
