Maijue Xiong got her degrees in sociology and education at the University of California-Santa Barbara, where she also was a cofounder of the Hmong Club. Xiong is a member of the Asian Culture Committee. She lives with her husband in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she teaches at Galtier Magnet Elementary School.
