Jack Finney (1911–1995) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and lived in California. He wrote both novels and short stories. Many of his short stories can be found in a collection titled I Love Galesburg in the Springtime. One of Finney's novels, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, in which aliens from outer space land on Earth and take over human bodies, became quite popular and was made into several movies.
