Reader's Resource
Seeing” is a chapter from Kathleen Norris’s first nonfiction book, Dakota: A Spiritual Geography (1993), which was praised by critics, writers, and readers. The New York Times Book Review named it a Notable Book of the year, and Library Journal honored it among its Best Books of 1993. Dakota describes the harsh, desolate, yet sublime landscape of the Great Plains and its influence on the human spirit. “Seeing” is a visual account of that landscape.
