Establish a Purpose
Read about autobiography in Literary Tools and About the Selection on page 211 of your textbook. Think about what you might learn from this autobiography, and set a purpose for reading. For example, you may read to find out what kind of change Kempe makes in her life or you may read to learn about everyday life in medieval times.
