Morality Play. Morality plays are clearly didactic, or meant to teach a lesson. How is the message of Everyman didactic? How do specific characters contribute to a didactic tone?

Naive Allegory. Explain what makes Everyman a naive allegory.

1. Write fortune cookie inserts that make pronouncements about human nature, such as those expressed in Everyman.

2. Write a sermon or persuasive speech about an issue related to human nature or behavior about which you feel strongly. For example, you might write about being kind to others or about respecting differences.

3. Write a short naive allegory. First choose a purpose for your allegory. Then identify the objects, action, abstractions that will be personified.
